The previous nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) batteries will be replaced by modern lithium (Li-Ion) batteries. The change comes into force from the production date 11/19.
The advantages of modern lithium-ion batteries are obvious:
- Reduced charging time - the charging time of the battery will be reduced from currently approx. 24 hours to 8
- No battery maintenance necessary - storage for up to 24 months without recharging
- No memory effect with lower self-discharge and higher energy density
- 25% more charging cycles possible
In line with the change of the battery type, the above mentioned devices also use a new, modern 5V plug-in power supply (instead of the 12V plug-in power supply as before). The part number of the new plug-in power supply is XD5706070A.
The described changes have no effect on the operation of the Lifeline Vi/Vi+ home emergency call devices.
